Dear Gareth,

Thank you for your email requesting data pertaining to British sports
deaths since the roll out of Covid-19 vaccinations.

I am writing to confirm that the Office for National Statistics has now
completed its search for the information which you requested and the
response can be found here:

You asked:

FOI Ref: FOI/2021/3269

How many British sports people have collapsed or died since the vaccine
roll-out?

Our response:

Thank you for your enquiry.

Unfortunately, we do not hold information on hospital admittance due to
sudden collapse and recoveries. NHS Digital would be better placed to
assist with this information. They can be contacted via email
at [1][email address].

We hold mortality data for England and Wales. [2]National Records Scotland
(NRS) are responsible for statistics pertaining to Scotland. Therefore, we
do not hold the requested data for the whole of Britain. Should you wish
to obtain Scottish data from NRS and NISRA, they can be contacted
at [3][email address].

The requested information, or something similar, for England and Wales may
be available to obtain as bespoke analysis. Such services would be subject
to legal frameworks, disclosure controls, resources and agreement of
costs. If you would like to request this bespoke dataset, please
contact [4][email address] to discuss your enquiry further. Please
note, there may be a charge for this work which would be subject to
our [5]charging policy.

Mortality data by occupation are coded using the [6]Standard Occupation
Classification (SOC 2010).

Therefore, we would need to clarify with you what you specifically mean by
'Sports Person' when discussing the information you would like to order.
Please note, we are unable to disclose the information by specific
individuals in the Sports industry, as this is personal
information. [7]Section 39 of the Statistics and Registration Service Act
2007 (SRSA) renders it a criminal offence to disclose information held by
the Statistics Board for statistical purposes that would identify an
individual or a body corporate.

Therefore, this would not include information on an individual basis.

You have the right to have this response to your Freedom of Information
request reviewed internally by an internal review process and, if you
remain unhappy with the decision, by the Information Commissioner. If you
would like to have the decision reviewed please email the Freedom of
Information Team at ‘[UK Statistics Authority request email]’ or write to The FoI Team, Room
1100, Office for National Statistics, Segensworth Road, Titchfield PO15
