Spending on social media influencers

The request was partially successful.

Dear Cabinet Office,

I'm writing to you under the Freedom of Information Act (2000) to ask that you please disclose details of any money spent on social media (for instance, TikTok or Instagram) influencers to promote government messaging, going back from present as far as records will allow, but preferably to the start of 2019. Specifically, I would like to know:

Which companies / individuals were used.

How much was spent on them, when, and for what general purpose they were employed.

The Hashtags, slogans, and themes used, such as the recent push to promote test and trace and vaccinations (link included).

Dear Max Colbert,

I am writing with regards to your request for information under the
Freedom of Information Act 2000, which was received on 21st October.

We have given consideration to your request and have concluded that we
require further clarification as to what you are requesting before we are
able to proceed.

Are you able to clarify in the final part of the request, the terms being
used are too vague to be meaningful: The Hashtags, slogans, and themes
used, such as the recent push to promote test and trace and vaccinations.
What is meant by 'themes'?

What do you also mean when you ask about spend from the start of 2019? At
this point there was no COVID-19 spend as there was no outbreak yet.

This is also a very broad ask as it seems to be saying test and trace is
only an example, so it isn't clear exactly what this information should
relate to.

As you may appreciate, a public authority has 20 working days in which to
respond to a request for information. The effect of a public authority
seeking clarity from a requester about their request is to 'stop the
clock' on that 20 working day deadline. It will not be started again until
we are supplied with the further information which we require. In the
event that we do not hear from you we will assume that you do not wish to
proceed with your request.

Please remember to quote the reference number above in any future
communications.

Yours sincerely,

Freedom of Information Team

Cabinet Office

Dear Cabinet Office,

I wasn't referring to spend exclusively for covid, but that was one example of where social media influencers or firms have been employed by the government.

The use of hastags, slogans etc again were examples of the type of information that could be held, as I don't know what is, and refers to any government messaging that was either created by a firm tasked under contract with producing such information, in which case I would like the contracts, or any government messaging campaign that was then passed on to influencers or influencer agencies. I'd therefore like the names of any agencies involved please.

Yours faithfully,

Max Colbert,
The Citizens.

Dear Cabinet Office,

Thank you for your response to this. Could I also just ask if this was a tendered contract? If so, Which other companies were in the running to get this contract. And when you say Freud's through MullenLowe, this is Freud Communications?
