Speed restrictions on M4
Dear South Wales Trunk Road Agent,
Please could you advise of any speed restrictions in place on the M4 junction 23a to junction 24 on 03/04/18 between 11.00am and 11.30am
Yours faithfully,
Emma Brown
Dear Ms Brown
Further to your recent correspondence, please find attached the requested speed limit signal settings information , M4 westbound junctions 23a to 24 on 03/04/18 11:00 to 11:30.
Please note, speed cameras operated by GoSafe in this location are part of a speed enforcement system which has the necessary Home Office Type Approval (HOTA) which allows its use for enforcement purposes. HOTA means that this enforcement system is to evidential standard and does not have a requirement for any further evidence. The gantry settings report is therefore issued for information only.
When a mandatory speed limit changes on the overhead signal, there is an automatic delay before enforcement can begin against the newly displayed limit. In this situation, drivers are not expected to brake sharply, but rather to reduce their speed so that they are within the speed limit as soon as it is safe to do so.
Further information on the variable speed limit scheme can be found at the link below:
