Speed ospringe

The request was successful.

Dear Kent County Council,

Please can you tell me how man vehicles use Ospringe Street ME138TW in a 24hr period. I saw that during roadworks in August this year a recording took place. I would like to know the largest amount in a 24hr period.

Yours faithfully,

Neil Holness

Dear Mr Holness

Thank you for your request for information made under the Freedom of
Information Act (FOIA) 2000, relating to Ospringe Street.

Please find attached all the traffic survey data Kent County Council holds
for this location. The data provides a record of the traffic conditions
observed on the days of the surveys. There are four attachments and these
are:

·         Traffic Survey data – June 2014

·         Site Map – Traffic Survey data – January 2008

·         Traffic Survey data (Westbound) – January 2008

·         Traffic Survey data (Eastbound) – January 2008

The speed surveys are broken down into daily counts, which are then
compiled into a weekly summary at the end.  The surveys show a count of
vehicles at 30 minutes intervals, and how many are travelling in
particular speed brackets (the headings at the top).  The “TOTAL” column
is the total number of vehicles travelling in that time period,
irrespective of speed. The total speeds for each speed bracket is shown
along the bottom. The “VPP 85” refers to the speed that 85% of vehicles
are travelling at or below, and “SD” is for the Standard Deviation which
is a statistical margin of variation of the data provided.

The classification surveys are also broken down according to day with a
week summary at the end, but show vehicles in particular classifications.
An explanation of the classifications is also provided within the survey,
with “R” in the HGC designation standing for “Rigid” and “A” standing for
“Articulated”.

Please note that the data provides a record of the traffic conditions
observed on the days of the surveys and may not reflect "typical"
conditions at that site.

If you are unhappy with this response, and believe KCC has not complied
with legislation, please ask for a review by following our complaints
process; details can be found at this link

on our website. Please quote reference FOI/15/1622.

If you still remain dissatisfied following an internal review, you can
appeal to the Information Commissioner, who oversees compliance with the
Freedom of Information Act 2000. Details of what you need to do, should
you wish to pursue this course of action, are available from the
Information Commissioner’s website [2]http://www.ico.org.uk/concerns.

Yours sincerely
