Thank you for your enquiry concerning speed restrictions on the M1 J17sb,
26 August 2020 at 15:08hrs. The information you have requested is
information we make available to the public on a regular basis. Your
request has been handled under normal business practices and not in
accordance with the Freedom of Information Act/Environmental Information
Regulations.

According to our records from 14:48:52hrs, the signal was set at 40mph due
to ‘STRANDED VEHICLE’. No further information is provided beyond 14:49:07
when lane 1 signal was set at STOP. Please note that enforcement of speed
restrictions is the responsibility of the police and they will contact you
if you have been found to violate speed restriction. We are unable to
comment on or provide you with advice about alleged offences because
information held by the police will always take legal precedence. This
response is for information only and cannot be used in court for
challenging an allegation of offending.
