Dear Katya,

Thank you for your recent contact to the Highways England Customer Contact
Centre on the 8^th May enquiring about speed limits in place during your
journey.

I would like to apologise that you experienced reduced speeds whilst you
travelled on the M1 between junction 18 and 17 on the 29^th April. I have
fully investigated your query and can confirm that there were speed
restrictions in place which are shown in the table below. These were in
place due to a blocked lane. There were also further restrictions in place
leading into the lane closure prior to junction 18.

Time Location Lane Closures Speed Message
Set
J18 12:09 126/8 (Device /III 50mph Incident
M1/3268B)
  12:09 125/5 (Device xIII 40mph Incident Lane
M1/3255B) closure
  12:09 124/6 (Device   National Speed
M1/3246B) Limit
J17

The signs were cleared after the incident was resolved at 13:09 and all
speeds were returned to the national speed limit at 13:26.
