The request was successful.

Dear Cambridgeshire Constabulary,

During the calendar 2015 year, which locations throughout Cambridgeshire have either Speed Camera Vans or police officers been dispatched specifically to conduct speed enforcement. For each location, please include the number of times speed checks were conducted and the total number of offences recorded.

If data for police officers is not kept then only include Speed Camera Vans' statistics.

Yours faithfully,

Dear Freedom of Information,

Thank you for the response.

Yes, i would like to be provided with the number of hours enforcement had been conducted at each site. Also, if you hold any more details, such as how much of the hours at each site were conducted before and after 12 o'clock (mid day) or even more specific time intervals please provide that as well.

Yours sincerely,

Garry James

Gary, I don't think your original request was satisfied where you asked how many times each site was visited (a very interesting statistic) and the total number of incidents reported (equally interesting). Only the Total number of Incidents reported was declared, not the total number of visits. I would also include, whilst you have their attention, the speed limit that the enforcement was carried out in because I am concerned that our rural areas - where we have the greatest concentration of population that needs protecting - are being ignored in favour of easier, more numerous NSL targets that reap greater rewards in Speed Awareness Course 'kickbacks' that go directly into the Constabulary purse. Also, I am not aware of the criteria that govern decisions on where to send the Enforcement Teams on a day to day basis? Who decides the schedule and locations? What governs the selection process? What say have the public in influencing where the Enforcement is carried out i.e. does democracy or need play any part in the plan?

David McCandless left an annotation ()

Sorry, I see that the Unit does not count the number of enforcement sessions it sends its vans out to. I find that a very disturbing admission as the morale of villagers is proportional to the number of times they see a van rather than on how long it stays in the village as few villagers will measure the time but they will count the visits. I think the Constabulary is missing a big point here and a massive PR opportunity to demonstrate its understanding of the public expectation.
