Speed Camera's A249 Detling
Dear Kent & Medway Safety Camera Partnership,
The fiixed speed camera on the A249 has been removed at Jade's Crossing the cross over for villagers in Detling at Pilgrims Way (West) and The Street. This is the only way villagers can leave their homes. This is one of three critical cross overs for the village, the other two are at Scragged Oak Road, and Church Lane. All area wihtin a mile or so of Detling Hill. These are 50mph areas to provide safe entry and egress to the three village routes.
I understand the removed camera is to be replaced at some point with a average speed check camera. There has been no consultation and as the current only other activated average check camera are between Sittingbourne and Iwade, this provides not enforcementt opportunity or safety measures for Detling Residents.
What are the current locations of average and fixed speed cameras on the entire length of the A249?
What are the planned location of average and fixed speed cameras on the entire length of the A249?
When will each of the camera installations planned be completed?
Can fixed and average check cameras be installed at the same location where cross over safety needs to be protected and enforced?
What consulation has taken place with regard to the change in camera's and their location?
How many times in the last three years have fines or offences been pursued in relation to fixed cameras on the A249 and where?
How many time in the last three years have fines or offences been pursued in relation to average speed cameras on the A249 and between which points?
What criteria are required to get a fixed speed camera and/or the zones between the top of Detling Hill and the M20 J7 ?
Thank you
Yours faithfully,
LAURA MACLAREN

Your original email was responded to by KCC FoI team. Also I have responded directly to you, as has Shellina.
I don't believe there are any questions that remain unanswered.
The parish council chairperson and clerk have also been updated.
Best regards
Tara
