Speed Camera Revenue (1)

The request was partially successful.

Dear Leicestershire County Council,

The Speed camera initiative project says it has been in touch with the Government over the way in which cameras are funded and the way fine revenue is collected/distributed. Please provide copies of all such correspondence.

Yours faithfully,

J Newman

Dear Leicestershire County Council,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Leicestershire County Council's handling of my FOI request 'Speed Camera Revenue (1)'.
The letter dated 1/11/18 refers to previous correspondence & a reply that are not included in this response

The letter dated 22/11/18 also refers to a reply (presumably to the letter dated 1/11/18) not included with this response

The letter dated 19/3/19 refers to an attachment not included in this response.

There is no reply to this latest letter (19/3/19) included in the response nor any other communication after this date - is this correct?
There are no emails included with this response - have there never been any?

Please note that "correspondence" is communication in **BOTH** directions. ("the action of writing, receiving, and reading ........" Cambridge dictionary)

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/s...

Yours faithfully,

J Newman

Dear [email address],
Further to my request for an internal review, I have just noticed that the letters dated 1/11/18 & 22/11/18 are in fact IDENTICAL. Did you really send the same letter twice 3 weeks apart? If so, why?
Yours sincerely,

J Newman

Dear Mr Newman

I have now been able to complete your request for an internal review to
FOI 3030 and can respond to the questions raised as follows:

1.            The letter dated 1/11/18 refers to previous correspondence &
a reply that are not included in this response

Please see letters attached: Nick Rushton to Robert Jenrick 28/08/18 &
Robert Jenrick to Nick Rushton 28/09/18 – apologies for originally
omitting these.

2.            The letter dated 22/11/18 also refers to a reply (presumably
to the letter dated 1/11/18) not included with this response

No, it refers to the two letters in 1 above and attached.

3.            The letter dated 19/3/19 refers to an attachment not
included in this response.

Document was attached to original response (attaching again for ease):

Average Speed Camera Pilot Proposal for Robert Jenrick MP, Exchequer
Secretary to the Treasury, March 2019.

4.            There is no reply to this latest letter (19/3/19) included
in the response nor any other communication after this date - is this
correct?

Document attached  : Robert Jenrick to Nick Rushton 23/07/19 – was
attached to original response.

Correct no further correspondence with Robert Jenrick as he then became
appointed Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government
when Boris Johnson became Prime Minister on 24th July 2019. At which time
the campaign was paused until trial was finished

5.            There are no emails included with this response - have there
never been any?

Letters were sent, not emails

6.            Please note that "correspondence" is communication in
**BOTH** directions. ("the action of writing, receiving, and reading
........"  Cambridge dictionary)

I have just noticed that the letters dated 1/11/18 & 22/11/18 are in fact
IDENTICAL. Did you really send the same letter twice 3 weeks apart? If so,
why?

Yes, I can only presume that a response wasn’t received to the initial
letter, so it was sent again.

I can now confirm that this concludes the internal review of this request
and if you continue to be dissatisfied with our response, you do have the
right to contact the Information Commissioner’s Office at
[1]www.ico.org.uk - [2]https://ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/

Yours sincerely
