Speeches by CX Mary Weastell and Leader Gillies

Gwen Swinburn made this Freedom of Information request to City of York Council

This request has been closed to new correspondence. Contact us if you think it should be reopened.

We're waiting for Gwen Swinburn to read recent responses and update the status.

Dear city of york

I see that there is a conference in Leeds on devolution and that both the Leader and our Chief Executive are amongst a long line of speakers. https://www.westyorks-ca.gov.uk/economy/...

As there has been no formal consultation with citizens in York at all, but some four years ago several meetings were held, could you please provide the following-

1. The speeches read by Cllr Gillies and Mary Weastell
2. All links to any update reports to any committee of this Council since April 2016.
3. All internal briefing notes /emails on the costs/benefits of any devolution option considered by this council?
4. I understand that officers brief that York will ‘get more money’ if they elect to go into a Leeds run devolution deal than a N Yorkshire and York arrangement. Can you confirm the truthfulness of this alleged assertion and provide recorded information to support or refute.

Thank you

Yours faithfully,

Gwen Swinburn
