Dear Ms Cross,
Freedom of Information Act 2000
Thank for your request for information concerning "special needs training
provision" for adults in Nuneaton and Bedworth.
I am writing to ask you to clarify your request. This is because we need
further details from you in order to identify and locate the correct
information.
Therefore I should be grateful if you could please provide a definition of
what 'special needs' in this case relates to. This is not a statutory term
used by Warwickshire County Council for someone with a disability or adult
social care need, so if you can be more specific with the information that
you require that would be much appreciated.
I will not be able to take this matter further without this extra
information from you. Please let me know by 05/05/2023.
If I do not hear from you within the timeframe provided, I shall take it
that you do not wish to pursue this request and will consider the request
closed.
If you need assistance, please contact me on 01926 413716 or
[email address].
Yours sincerely

To: Warwickshire County Council,
Apologies for not using non-statutory terms, however I list the acceptable terms below. I trust that these are acceptable to Warwickshire County Council as they are on GOV.UK and other websites such as MENCAP
SEND = SEN a legal term
A child or young person who has Special Educational Needs or disability.
Learning difficulty/disability (used by MENCAP)
Intellectual disabled people
Developmentally disabled people
Deaf people
Visually impaired people
Wheelchair users
I understand that there are approximately 732,000 adults of working age with a learning disability in England.
It seems that many adults are ill-catered for and as such I would like to know if / where facilities exist for them to socialise, learn new skills and generally feel included in everyday society in the area of Nuneaton and Bedworth.
Thank you,
Dawn Cross
To: Warwickshire County Council,
I have already clarified this request for you.

Very little information supplied which seems rather unusual for such an important subject.
