Information Governance (Social Care & Performance), Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council

Dear Ben

Re: FOI request – Ref Number 3960

Further to your FOI Request received on 23 October 2012, below is our
response:

1.       Who is primarily responsible for all Special Educational Needs
within the local authority?

If this means who is ultimately responsible for ensuring that the Local
Authority fulfils its statutory duties for children and young people with
SEN as defined within the 1996 Education Act, then the answer is the Chief
Executive.  If the term ‘primarily responsible’ means which officer has
responsibility for the strategic and operational delivery of services and
functions, then the answer is the Head Inclusion and Access.

2.       Do you have an SEN or SENCO/Inclusion Manager, if so what is
their name and contact details?

We do not have a role which is described as SEN or SENCO Inclusion Manager
within the LAs structures.

3.       Does the authority currently manage SEN and have a system for
managing SEN assessments and statements?

Yes.

4.       If so which system do you use?

Tribal.

You may copy, distribute, transmit, adapt or otherwise exploit any
