Dear West Midlands Police,

It is well established that the Metropolitan Police's special Branch gathered intelligence on the Stephen Lawrence campaign. When the MacPherson Inquiry held hearings in London, officers from the Met's Special Branch were there.

MacPherson held hearings outside of London too. On 8 october 1998, Greater Manchester Police's Special Branch issued a memo asking for ‘information or intelligence on groups or individuals who are likely to be attending’ the Manchester hearings.

Did West Midlands Police's Special Branch engage in any action in relation to the MacPherson inquiry's hearings in Brirmingham that were eventually held in November 1998?

Are there any West Midlands Police Special Branch documents relating to the Stephen Lawrence case?

Yours faithfully,

M Badger
