1. Do you monitor attendance of users of rooms including the physical number of individuals occupying a room for an event?
2. How do you monitor attendance of users of rooms?
a. If it is via an attendance monitoring system please state which one you are using?
3. If you monitor the usage of space:
a. What percentage of your planned or centrally recorded teaching activity takes place?
b. What percentage is recorded as not having taken place?
4. If you monitor the actual levels of occupation of general teaching rooms (Classrooms) what is the average percentage of recorded occupation within the rooms during general Undergraduate teaching weeks.
5. What percentage of teaching rooms do you monitor?
6. How many teaching rooms do you have by the following categories:
- Lecture Theatre
- Classroom
- Computer Lab
- All other specialist teaching spaces
i. Please specify what these Specialist Teaching Spaces are.
a. How many of these rooms are managed centrally or locally (i.e. within a college of faculty)?
7. Do you have a timetabling policy?
a. If you have a timetabling policy do you state the hours that teaching will take place between?
b. Do you differentiate between “Day or Core Hours” and “Evening or Non-Core Hours” and if so what are these hours?
8. What percentage of your teaching is held during the hours of:
a. 9:00 am – 5:00 pm?
b. 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm?

2. How do you monitor attendance of users of rooms? We monitor individual student attendance at teaching events within rooms.
a. If it is via an attendance monitoring system please state which one you are using? TDS Student
3. If you monitor the usage of space:
a. What percentage of your planned or centrally recorded teaching activity takes place? As we monitor individual student attendance, we do record cancelled activities. See Note below
b. What percentage is recorded as not having taken place? We do not record this. See Note below
4. If you monitor the actual levels of occupation of general teaching rooms (Classrooms) what is the average percentage of recorded occupation within the rooms during general Undergraduate teaching weeks. We record on an individual student basis so we do not record this. See Note below
5. What percentage of teaching rooms do you monitor? 100% of all teaching spaces have card swipe facilities for student attendance
6. How many teaching rooms do you have by the following categories:
- Lecture Theatre 17
- Classroom 86
- Computer Lab 24
- All other specialist teaching spaces laboratories for specialist courses. 109 in total lab areas. Most lab spaces are split into different specialist areas/cubicles within the 1 lab. Most labs have viewing galleries which are separated in the total above too but cannot be booked separately.
i. Please specify what these Specialist Teaching Spaces are. Labs for specific courses. Bio labs, Engineering labs, home environments, wards, health labs, fashion labs.
a. How many of these rooms are managed centrally or locally (i.e. within a college of faculty)? All spaces are managed centrally.
7. Do you have a timetabling policy? Yes. Please see the attached document
a. If you have a timetabling policy do you state the hours that teaching will take place between? Yes
b. Do you differentiate between “Day or Core Hours” and “Evening or Non-Core Hours” and if so what are these hours? Evening courses and some part time courses take place between 18:00-21:00. Our teaching takes place between 09:00-18:00 Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Wednesday 09:00-13:00 and Friday 09:00-17:00, Day release can take place over the full day.
8. What percentage of your teaching is held during the hours of:
a. 9:00 am – 5:00 pm? We do not record this information. See Note below
b. 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm? We do not record this information. See Note below
