South Yorkshire Airport City Outline Business Case

Without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing, in particular, the following questions under the Freedom of Information Act.
In public statements, the Mayor Ros Jones has referred to the Outline Business Case. I would like to ask the following questions.
1. The amount of Gainshare money requested is not disclosed, but can you confirm whether this is Capital and/or revenue and evidence that alternative sources of funding that has been sought previously with the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority?
2. The Gross Value Added of £2bn which is measure exclusive of taxes and subsidies has been mentioned. For both Doncaster and South Yorkshire as a whole could you provide the following for context
• Gross Value Added per head of population
• Gross median weekly salaries/earnings
• Unemployed or economically inactive number as well as expressed as a percentage of the total workforce.
3. I would like to request a timeline for when we can expect a Full Business Case to be presented to the Combined Authority.

Thank you for your Freedom of Information request dated 29 January 2024 for information about South Yorkshire Airport City Outline Business Case. Please find below City of Doncaster Council’s responses to the questions you have raised.

1. The amount of Gainshare money requested is not disclosed, but can you confirm whether this is Capital and/or revenue and evidence that alternative sources of funding that has been sought previously with the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority?
Response: We can confirm this is both Capital and Revenue. Evidence for alternative sources of funding is not held by the City of Doncaster Council.

2. The Gross Value Added of £2bn which is measure exclusive of taxes and subsidies has been mentioned. For both Doncaster and South Yorkshire as a whole could you provide the following for context

Response: This information is exempt from disclosure under Section 21 of the Freedom of information Act. Section 21 exempts information from the right of access if that information is reasonably accessible to the applicant by other means. Response: The Freedom of Information Act provides a right of access, subject to certain exemptions, to recorded information held by public authorities. It does not require public authorities to create information to enable it to respond, therefore this information is not held by City of Doncaster Council.

The City of Doncaster Council estimates that it has cost £46 to respond to this request for information.
