Sources of funding for regeneration projects

Dear Arun District Council,

1. Please identify the source of and amount of funding for the proposed Leisure facility on Littlehampton seafront.

2. Similarly, the amount and source of funding for improvements to the Arun Leisure Centre owned by the Council in Felpham.

3. Similarly, public realm improvements in Bognor Regis, and also in Littlehampton within the past 5 years

4. Concerning the proposed/potential development of the Hothamton site in BR, what is the estimated provision required to fulfill the proposals published to date by the Council, and what sources would this be likely to be funded from, and would there be funding from Arun Council resources contemplated.?

5. As in 4, but applied to the Regis Centre site?

6. Regarding 5, if a new theatre were to be constructed, would that be funded from Council resources, and if not, what kind of sources are envisanged at this time?

With regard to the High Street, Bognor Regis, West Sussex County Council
have invested around an additional £400,000, however Arun District Council
does not hold details of the exact contract value and can only advise of
the contribution made by Arun District Council, which is part of the CCF
shown above.  You may wish to contact the Project Manager at West Sussex
County Council for further information.

 

In respect of Littlehampton, we can advise the following:-

 

In December 2012, Littlehampton Sub-Committee reported that an application
by the Council for a Mary Portas Pilot Grant had been unsuccessful, but
the Council had, instead, been awarded a grant of £10,000 to use on
unspecified projects to improve the town centre.

 

A report was presented to Littlehampton Regeneration Sub-Committee held on
7 August 2012 which gave details of the proposed expenditure of S106
monies from the Morrisons development at Wick.  Please see the agenda
attached for further details.

 

In respect of Public Realm works/the East Bank scheme:-

 

West Sussex County Council Grant Kick-Start Programme = £400,000

 

Coastal Communities Fund Grant = £566,000 (Partly offset Supplementary
Estimate from C/076/140414)

Arun District Council Funding = £1,050,000
