Software subscriptions to Adobe - Home Office

The request was partially successful.

Dear Home Office,

Below we have multiple Home Office annual subscriptions of the COMPLETE range of Adobe products. Adobe states "Creative cloud gives you the entire collection of Adobe creative tools for your desktop and mobile. Enhance and perfect your photos with Photoshop and Lightroom. Create logos, graphics and icons with Illustrator. Produce printed documents like postcards, flyers, posters and magazines and business material like business cards, brochures and reports with InDesign. Design and publish websites with Dreamweaver and create prototypes of mobile apps with Adobe XD. Make stunning videos for film, TV and web"

From your records and advice and assistance please kindly supply the copy invoices and job titles of Home Office staff members who you have taken out a complete Adobe software subscription for, corresponding to the transactions below. We wish to understand why your staff need subscriptions to do everything mentioned by Adobe above and establish whether these costs to the taxpayer are needed.

Dear Home Office,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Home Office's handling of my FOI request 'Software subscriptions to Adobe - Home Office'.
Our request supplied the public links your office made to its web server showing a series of six annual subscriptions to 'Adobe Creative Cloud' for £596.33 and one for £849.60. We asked you to kindly supply the invoices from these and the job titles of Home Office staff members who you have taken out a complete Adobe software subscription so we can establish whether these costs to the taxpayer are in fact needed.

Your reply sought to cover up this information under S40, S43(2) citing commercial and public interests. However you should be already well aware that the costs of £596.33 and £849.60 are not only already in the public domain but they are universal to all Adobe subscribers as special discounts are not applied to government workers. We already know they have been either purchased from Adobe directly or an authorised reseller at the same price as what they could be purchased directly from Adobe. Anyone going to this link https://www.adobe.com/uk/creativecloud/p... and taking the process to checkout will see this for themselves. Either way if you feel better you may cover up the website, company name and name of individual associated with the transaction on each invoice.

Furthermore the job titles of those you have set up these subscriptions for cannot be considered 'personal information'. Names are personal. Job titles are not. We asked for job titles not names of individuals. Providing a list of job titles of those who you pay public money for these Adobe subscriptions does not expose personal information.

All of this should have already been done by default instead of claiming the information is exempt from release.

Therefore we expect you to now release the information requested (with redactions where required) without further delay or alternatively provide a valid exemption or we shall be forced to take the matter to the Information Commissioner.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/s...

Yours faithfully,

Lee Jefferson
