I would like to request the below information in line with the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act 2000. The definitions in this request relate to the Local Authority Social Services Act 1970, in particular when referring to the Director of Adult Social Services or their senior management board (the board)

• The number of Adult Social Care (Social Services) Board Members

• The number that has a social work qualification and are currently registered with the HCPC

• Whether the Director of Adult Social Services has a social work qualification and is currently registered with the HCPC

• Is The Principal Social Worker a board member

• The gender split of the Adult Social Care (Social Services) Board.

• The ethnicity split as defined by UK Census categories of the Adult Social Care (Social Services) Board.

Dear Michael Lynton,

Thank you for your response and guidance in relation to my request. I can clarify that in the absence of a formal Adult social care board I mean for the questions to be applied to the senior management team that delivers adult social care functions and report to the Director of Social Service (DASS) or whomever fulfill this statutory role if defined by a different name in your authority.

Further if there in the absence of a formal Adults Social Care Board can you advise whether the PSW forms part if the senior management team as defined above.

**Please note, the Management team is shared between 2 Councils
(Bournemouth Borough Council and Borough of Poole) therefore answers give
total across both and pro rata for BBC.

Members  - Total is 7 / Pro rata is 3.5

 

•             The number that has a social work qualification and are
currently registered with the HCPC - 111

 

•             Whether the Director of Adult Social Services has a social
work qualification and is currently registered with the HCPC – The
Director is not a Social Worker but is on the register as an OT.  The DASS
(Sue Ross) is registration SW00190.

 

•             Is The Principal Social Worker a board member – Yes

 

•             The gender split of the Adult Social Care (Social Services)
Board.  43% men 57% women

 

•             The ethnicity split as defined by UK Census categories of
the Adult Social Care (Social Services) Board.  100% White/British
