Dear L White
Thank you for your email of 9 May 2017 where you requested information
about social media from The Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals
NHS Foundation Trust (RBCH).
The information you requested is below with answers provided in bold, blue
text:
1. Please provide me with a copy of your Trust's Social Media Governance
Policy (for employees), or equivalent, and the date it was adopted.
Please see attached. This policy is currently being updated.
2. Please list the Social Media programmes used by your Trust (i.e. if you
use Twitter, Facebook, Instagram etc. ... I do not need individual account
details).
Twitter and Facebook.
3. Please detail training offered to staff on the use of social media.
Mandatory Information Governance training is provided to new staff as well
as existing staff to maximise compliance with patient confidentiality and
information security requirements. Twitter advice is provided but training
is currently on hold until the new policy is finalised as we need the
backing of a policy to make sure the training is robust.
4. Please state how many people in your Trust have been disciplined as a
result of social media behaviour, for the calendar years 2012-2016
The employee relations spreadsheet records the type of event, i.e.
sickness, disciplinary, grievance, but not the exact reason (until this
year) for the investigation/action; also, if the manager has dealt with
the incident locally HR would not necessarily be aware, unless it was
considered to be a serious incident. RBCH is therefore unable to provide
this information.
5. Please provide the approximate number of people (headcount) employed by
your Trust.
Headcount as at 30/04/2017 was 4395 staff.
Please help us to improve our FOI service by completing a short
[1]questionnaire.
The information supplied to you continues to be protected by copyright.

right to ask for an internal review. Internal review requests should be
