Social housing & Welfare refom act

The request was partially successful.

Dear Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government,

How many one bedroom Council/Housing Associations homes are being planned to be built to help tenants size down and for future generations?

And what can a tenant do when Housing Descrepency Payments are stopped, that is relyed on to not be at risk of being homeless over the bedroom taxes, when there are no 1 bedroom homes available?

So far, how many people have been evicted from their property over Housing Descrepency Payments being stopped/bedroom taxes that could not find a smaller home?

When will the Wefare Reform Act allow single/couples to size down into a 2 bed with HDP because there is no 1 bed properties anywhere, to prevent them homelessness risk of being trapped into larger homes with bedroom tax risk that can cause poverty to homelessness?

How can the public scrutinize the bad impact of the welfare reform act does, that penalizes people to not be able to size down over the flaws in this act that need looking into, with evidence of trapping people in larger homes?

Yours faithfully,

Angela Grace

FoI Requests, Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government

Dear Angela Grace,

Many thanks for your email below which we received on 27 December 2018. We do not consider your enquiry to fall under the Freedom of Information regime, for the reasons given below, so have transferred it to the Department's correspondence team to be answered by the appropriate Policy official.

The Freedom of Information Act (2000) gives individuals and organisations the right of access to all types of recorded information held, at the time the request is received, by public authorities such as the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government. Section 84 of the Act states that in order for a request for information to be handled as a Freedom of Information (FOI) request, it must be for recorded information. For example, a Freedom of Information request would be for a copy of a policy or other documents; rather than a request for a view, explanation or interpretation of legislation or policy.
When the FOI team receive requests that do not ask for recorded information, to be as helpful as possible we transfer these to the Department's correspondence team so that they can be directed to the appropriate Policy official who will respond in due course.
The correspondence team can be contacted directly using the form at http://forms.communities.gov.uk/

Yours sincerely

Dear Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government's handling of my FOI request 'Social housing & Welfare reform act'.

Please help me find some answers due to the F.O.I rejection.

I ask further:-

Are there any statistics on how many people are evicted from social housing since the new welfare reform act was introduced? Please send.

Are there any statistics/records of evictions from social housing to anylize the causes of homelessness since the welfare reform act was in place?

Where do I find such records for my reasearch on evictions statistics and reasons?

How many social housing of one bedroom properties being built for 2019 and onwards to help people size down with the new welfare reform acts in place?

Please send me all statistics on people evicted from social housing that you have on record.

How many people claimed Housing Descrepency Payments? And why?

How many people were refused Housing Descrepency payments? And why?

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/s...

Yours faithfully,

Angela Grace
