Thank you for your recent request made under the Freedom of Information
Act. Please find Wirral Borough Council’s responses as follows:

How many British Citizens are currently on the Social Housing  waiting
list in Wirral

How many of these have been on the waiting list for more than one year?

Response:

The Councils  IT system stores data in relation to Ethnic Origin and
Nationality.  As at 4th May 2016 there were 16,776 UK Nationals registered
for rehousing with Property Pool Plus Wirral (Wirral's Housing Register),
of these 12,566 have been on the register for more than one year.    

 

What are the criteria for priority allocation of housing?

Response:

Please see attached the Property Pool Plus Policy which sets out the
criteria for awarding priority for rehousing.
