Freedom of information, North Kesteven District Council

Ref No: 13/183

16 August 2013

Dear Ms Egglestone

I refer to previous correspondence regarding your request for information
relating to: Social Housing.

The information you requested is given below:

1. How many one bedroom general needs properties do you have available to
Let (voids) this week?

1 x 1ground floor flat within a sheltered (over 60yrs)  housing scheme,
that is available this week (i.e. as at 08.08.13)

2. How many tenants are deemed to be under-occupying, and needing one bed
accommodation?

The Council does not record the household make up of its tenants. “Housing
need” in terms of bedrooms required would only be assessed if either a)
they applied for a transfer (covered by Q3) or b) they were overcrowding
the dwelling.

3. How many people are already on the waiting list for one bedroom
properties?

Total number of applicants registered requiring 1 bed properties = 309, as
at 1 April 2013.

Of the 309, 163 are social housing tenants (not all NKDC) assessed as
under-occupying
