Social housing lets

Jo Staines made this Freedom of Information request to Lambeth Borough Council Automatic anti-spam measures are in place for this older request. Please let us know if a further response is expected or if you are having trouble responding.

Waiting for an internal review by Lambeth Borough Council of their handling of this request.

Dear Lambeth Borough Council,

1a) Can I know please know for each social and council let you have made in the last 12 months :

A) The number of bedrooms of the property? (with studios/bedsits labelled as 0, and 1 bed flats as 1 etc.)
B) The priority band of the successful household (eg. A2, C) on the housing register?
C) The number of years since the relevant date*?
D) If it is a choice-based letting or a direct offer?
E) Who the landlord of the property is (eg. Lambeth, Housing Association)?
F) If it was a Choice-based lettings property, then confirm if this property was reserved for statutorily homeless applicants living in temporary accommodation?
G) Is it sheltered (including over 55 only) or general needs housing?
H) The date, or month, that the let was made?

The information would ideally be provided in an excel table with a column for each of the questions above and a row for each letting made.

*"relevant date" refers to the date used ot dettermine priority within a band. I understand this changed in April 2024 from time on waiting list to time in band.

1b) Please can I be told the exact dates that the data provided covers (eg. 01.07.2023 to 01.07.2024)?

Yours faithfully,

Jo Staines

Dear Lambeth Borough Council,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Lambeth Borough Council's handling of my FOI request 'Social housing lets'.

There are three problems with the response to my FOI, that we request are adressed as part of the internal review. Each detailed below.

1) The FOI request asked for information about *each* individual let, and asked that this would ideally be provided as an excel spreadsheet with each row corresponding to each property let/nominated. The reply provided generalised/amalgamated data in answer to most questions.

We request that data is provided for *each* let as originally requested. The same FOI (ref:IRN13713659) from November 2022 confirms that this is possible, and that the information is held in this format. Link to FOI is:

https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/s...

2) The FOI reply stated that the time in band could not be provided as "data is not collected". However, this cretieria is used to calculate priorty, and therefore who is awarded houisng. Therefore this information has ot be collected, otherwise the council are not allocating housing in accordance with their scheme, which is unlawful under s.166A(14) Housing Act 1996.

3) The FOI reply stated that there have been no property reservations for those in temporary accommodation. However, in a separate FOI (ref: IRN25654686) the council did acknoelwdge a number of properties during this period had been reserved for those in temporary accommodation. Link to FOI is:

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/s...

Yours faithfully,

Jo Staines
