Dear Vale of Glamorgan Council,

Please could you provide information on the following;

1) How many people are currently on waiting lists for social/affordable houses in your area? Preferably broken down by type of property needed (accessible, number of bedrooms) and age bracket of applicant.

2) How many social/affordable houses are currently vacant in your area?

3) How many, if any, social/affordable houses still do not meet Welsh Housing Quality Standards (WHQS) in your area?

4) A breakdown of occupants currently placed in social/affordable housing in your area. Preferably broken down by type of property needed (accessible, number of bedrooms) and age bracket of applicant.

Thank you for your Freedom of Information Act 2000 request asking the
questions below and the information held follows.

 

Dear Vale of Glamorgan Council,

 

Please could you provide information on the following;

 

1) How many people are currently on waiting lists for social/affordable
houses in your area? Preferably broken down by type of property needed
(accessible, number of bedrooms) and age bracket of applicant.  

 

Total number of applicants: 4061   -  split as below (bedroom
eligibility).    There are currently 404 applications on the Accessible
Homes Register.   

 

           

Intermediate homes for sale applications;

Total on list        839

Two bed need  700

Three bed          125

Four bed            14

All applicants are under retirement age

 

Social Housing Waiting List applications;

Total on list        4061

One bed need  2226

Two bed need  1237

Three bed          465

Four bed            118

Five +                  15

 

 

2) How many social/affordable houses are currently vacant in your area?  

 

There are currently 64 void properties (including long term voids)

 

3) How many, if any, social/affordable houses still do not meet Welsh
Housing Quality Standards (WHQS) in your area?

 

              - 903 non-compliant properties

 

4) A breakdown of occupants currently placed in social/affordable housing
in your area. Preferably broken down by type of property needed
(accessible, number of bedrooms) and age bracket of applicant.   

 

As we have not been required to report this previously, we do not
currently have reporting systems in place.
