3) How many, if any, social/affordable houses still do not meet Welsh Housing Quality Standards (WHQS) in your area?

4) A breakdown of occupants currently placed in social/affordable housing in your area. Preferably broken down by type of property needed (accessible, number of bedrooms) and age bracket of applicant.

Dear V Tamplin,

 

We refer to your Freedom of Information Request in respect of Social
Housing Demand, the Authority’s response is as follows:

 

1) How many people are currently on waiting lists for social/affordable
houses in your area? Preferably broken down by type of property needed
(accessible, number of bedrooms) and age bracket of applicant.

 

Currently there are 3367 people registered on the Authority’s housing
waiting list (HomefinderRCT), of which 403 need accessible features within
their property 

 

Please see attached, the number of active applicants registered with
HomefinderRCT requesting certain property type by age. (Please note that
applicants can choose more than one type of property for rehousing)

 

2) How many social/affordable houses are currently vacant in your area?

 

As at October 2017 the Authority’s Local Housing Market Assessment
identified that there are 300 void Housing Association properties, based
on information provided by Housing Associations. For Further information,
please contact the following Housing Associations directly, as Rhondda
Cynon Taf Council does not own any housing.
