Dear Ms Hamid,
FOI request: FOI-1898
Thank you for your request dated 13/05/2024
Our response is as follows:
I would like to make a request for the information held by Greenwich
council for social housing. If you could please answer the following:
1) At present how many 2 beds are available on the social housing
register?
21 two-bedroom properties
2) What is the current wait time for a 2 bed property?
The below is based on lettings of 2-bedroom properties where the tenancy
was created during the period 1^st April 2023 to 31^st March 2024. It is
only an average number of months. This is only for those who were
rehoused from each band in the period concerned and does not account for
the wait by the far higher number of people not rehoused.
Band Average Number of Months Based on Number of Offers
Band A 13.40 5
Band B1 27.46 335
Band B2 16.75 4
Band C 67.00 4
3) At present how many applicants are there waiting for a 2 bed property?
There are a total of 6115 applicants who are waiting for a 2-bedroom
property as either a minimum or maximum bed need.
4) How many households are in each band or category of the list?
See below. Some cases with a priority will also have a Band C entry but
this is based on all rehousing lists but only counts each application once
in the highest band.
General Needs Band A 185
General Needs Band B1 3,840
General Needs Band B2 1,040
General Needs Band C 23,952
Sheltered Band A 4
Sheltered Band B 26
Sheltered Band C 116
Accessible List 151
TOTAL 29,314
