Good Afternoon,

Please see below a response to your FOI request received on the 8^th June
2022.

The figures included in the below are for the 2019/20 and 2020/21
financial years:  

1. The total cost the council spent on temporary accommodation in 2021 –
Gross Cost - £905,000  - Net Cost  - £227,000

2. The total cost the council spent on temporary accommodation in 2020 –
Gross Cost - £230,000  -  Net Cost - £176,000

The difference between the Net Cost and the Gross Cost is Housing Benefit
Payment and the Government Covid Grant.

3. The average length households were placed in temporary accommodation in
2021 – 48.81 days

4. The average length households were placed in temporary accommodation in
2020 – 39.14 days
