Dear FOI,

Thank you for this response, copied below:

"Which company supplies your social care IT system?
OLM Systems Ltd

What is the name of the system?
CareFirst

When did the Council make the decision to award to this supplier? Please use the date when the award notice was sent to unsuccessful bidders
Contract start date 05/12/2017

The Council made the decision to Direct Award under Crown Commercial Services Framework RM1059 - Local Authority Software Applications (Lot 6 – Social Care Systems), therefore there were no unsuccessful bidders.

What was the target go-live date specified in the tender?
Anticipated go-live date is May 2019 with the Finance implementation anticipated to go live in June 2020.

What is the current estimated go-live date?
August 2018"

Could I ask you to check that it really is Carefirst which you have bought, rather than Eclipse? Carefirst is a really old system - most local authorities have got rid of it now. Eclipse is OLM's new system, which, as far as I know, isn't live anywhere yet. I'd just be surprised if any council bought an obsolete system like Carefirst, so would appreciate it if you could check this detail for me.

Yours sincerely,

David Hanson

FOI,, South Ayrshire Council

Good morning

I have spoken to our HSCP department who have advised as follows:

I can confirm that South Ayrshire Council purchased the CareFirst system from OLM. At the time of tendering for a new management information system within South Ayrshire Council (specifically within the South Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership) CareFirst was, and still is, in use by a number of local authorities throughout the UK and was the system that OLM tendered with.

South Ayrshire HSCP are also benefiting from this purchase as they have agreed access to a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the development, reporting and training of the system from within the North Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership where CareFirst is also the primary Social Care management information system.

Kind regards
