Dear Home Office,

These questions pertain to the logo and branding of SOCA. I know that you may not "own" this information, but if you hold it, the Act nevertheless requires you to divulge it.

— When was your current logo, corporate style, graphics and
branding implemented?
— Who designed it?
— How much were the designers paid for their services?
— Were other designers consulted? Was there competition? If so, who
was involved, and was any payment made to unsuccessful firms?
— Are there any "alternate" versions of the branding (as in, any
which were designed but not taken up), and if so, please supply an
electronic copy.
— Please provide me with a copy of your logo guidelines, branding
manual or equivalent document.

Yours faithfully,
Steve Elibank

Dear Mr Riddle,

16302

I am disappointed, though not altogether surprised, that your department has chosen to break the law and not respond to my Freedom of Information request within the statutory deadline.

Please explain what is going on, as soon as possible.

FOI Requests, Home Office

Dear Mr Elibank

Please find attached the Home Office response to your request for
information case 16302.  In addition, I also write to you to address your
query to the Home Office earlier today. In your query you asked the Home
Office to address its failure to respond within the statutory 20 day
deadline.

On the 4^th October 2010, I wrote to you advising you that the Home Office
had received your request for information and would send you a full
response by 1 November 2010, which is twenty working days from the date
when we received your request. This deadline was ascertained by the Home
Office on the basis that your request was submitted to the Home Office on
Saturday 2^nd October 2010.  Weekends and non working days do not feature
in a requests timeline.  As such the clock on your case would not have
started until the morning of the 4^th October 2010 and this day would have
then been day 0 on the case calendar.  This made the deadline for you your
case as the end of the day on the 1^st November 2010.  The Home Office is
therefore not in breach of the 20 working day deadline.

Many Thanks
