Dear Ms Emma Bertie

Request FOI/6699

Further to your request received on 21/12/2022, I confirm that the Council
has now considered your request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
For ease of reference, we will answer each question in turn:

I am writing to make an open government request for information which I am
entitled to under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

Under the Freedom of Information Act, could you provide the data for the
below points, as of the 20th December 2022 (or the closest available date
available in data):

 1. How many public buildings in your council had working smart energy
meters installed on the premises?

The council does not have a full breakdown of ‘smart metering’ (or
Automatic Meter Reading ‘AMR’) installations.  The data in the table below
shows the approximate numbers of supplies that have been fitted with AMR
equipment.

Utility Number of Approx no. Comments
supply with AMR
accounts
Electricity : half 36 36 Mandatory half-hourly metered
hourly metered supplies
Electricity : 926 770 At Jan. 2021 there were
non-half hourly approximately 300 of these
metered supplies without AMR.  A
subsequent roll-out of
installation took place between
March-July 2021
Electricity : 8 1 The main UMS supply is for street
unmetered supplies lighting.  Almost 100% of the
columns are now metered via a
Central Management System
Gas : all supplies 113 65 First AMR installation programme
was around 2010

- Please provide the data split by property type

A full breakdown by property type is not available.  The majority of the
supplies with AMR will be occupied premises

- If available, please provide the date/year the smart energy meters were
installed

See table comments

- If available, please provide any available data on when smart energy
meters are planned to be installed on the premises which don't already
have them

Installation of AMR is an ongoing process.  The remaining supplies without
AMR will predominantly be those with no (or poor) mobile signal.

under the Freedom of Information Act, you may ask for an internal review.
