Dear Bassetlaw District Council,

I am writing to make an open government request for information which I am entitled to under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. 

Under the Freedom of Information Act, could you provide the data for the below points, as of the 20th December 2022 (or the closest available date available in data): 

1. How many public buildings in your council had working smart energy meters installed on the premises?

- Please provide the data split by property type
- If available, please provide the date/year the smart energy meters were installed
- If available, please provide any available data on when smart energy meters are planned to be installed on the premises which don't already have them

information. Bassetlaw District Council will consider whether any of these

public interest to release the information. If we have to make a public
interest test, the 20 day time limit might be extended. We will inform you
if the time scale has to be extended and if any information is withheld
and of your rights of appeal.

Bassetlaw District Council would like to make you aware that disclosure of
information obtained through FOIA is a disclosure into the public domain.

The District Council’s standard approach is to provide the information in
the form in which we hold it. If you require alternative formats, e.g.
audio, large print, etc. or a different language, please let me know and
we will provide it if reasonably practicable to do so. If your request is
a question and we do not hold the answer in recorded form we will try and
provide an answer where we are able unless it requires the creation of new
information.

I refer to your form submitted on 21/Dec/2022 15:02, requesting
information pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act 2000. Your request
can be summarised as 1. How many public buildings in your council had
working smart energy meters installed on the premises? - Please provide
the data split by property type - If available, please provide the
date/year the smart energy meters were installed - If available, please
provide any available data on when smart energy meters are planned to be
installed on the premises which don't already have them.

Whilst the Act confers a general right of access to information held by
public authorities section 1 provides that “any person making a request
for information to a public authority is entitled:

a) to be informed in writing by the public authority whether it holds
information of the description specified in the request; and

b) if that is the case to have that information communicated to him”,
subject to the effect of the exemptions in Part 11 of the Act.

Therefore pursuant to the Council’s duty to confirm or deny whether or not
it holds the information requested, the Council can confirm that it does
