I apologise for not responding before. I have now been informed by our HR department that the information you have requested does not exist in the form that you have requested it.

The Freedom of Information Act applies to information held by public authorities. The act states that these authorities do not have to create new information to respond to requests.

At the moment Slough Borough Council are undergoing a major restructure which should be largely completed by the middle of April.

In order to advise and assist what I suggest is that you wait and submit a new FOI around the middle of April. We would not be able to provide an organisation chart with all the information you have requested on this chart as this does not exist. However we could provide you with a list of all staff paid over £58,200 and a copy of their Job Description as this will show their responsibilities. As I have said we are going through a major restructure and if we were to provide this list to you now it would be inaccurate and out of date, as some posts are being deleted and other new posts are being created.

Please let me know if you are happy to submit a revised FOI in mid April.

Thank you for this information. However, in my original email, I asked:

I now have the names and job descriptions of these individuals, but not the exact FTE pay. Could you send this through by the end of tomorrow (Monday 28.03.10). Thanks.

I am unable to supply exact salaries for staff paid over £58,200 by Slough Borough Council as individual salaries are considered personal information under the data protection act and to release this information would breach the first data protection principle.

Having said that I am able to release the exact salary of the Chief Executive which for 11/12 is £157,479.

Although I cannot release details of other exact salaries I am able to release details of the salary bandings of senior officers. Please find attached a table showing which salary banding these staff belong to.
