Dear James Spatz,

Our ref: FOI-1928-2425

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 15 September 2024 asking for information about the SL3 bus route.

Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy.

I can confirm that we do hold the information you require. You asked:

Please can a list of expected future bus priority measures for the SL3 route, and the expected implementation date of these measures be provided please?

Please note, besides two small Transport for London Road Network (TLRN) sections on the A2 East Rochester Way and the A21 Tweedy Road, the SL3 operates all on the borough road network in Bromley, Bexley and Greenwich.

There are 2 TLRN schemes that we are currently looking into the feasibility of, these are considering north and southbound bus lane on A21 Tweedy Road. If bus lanes are viable at these locations implementation could be in 2026/27 subject to funding and consultation.

We have identified 25 potential borough bus priority and direct routing schemes on the SL3 across Bromley, Bexley and Greenwich. These have been shared with boroughs for their early consideration. The boroughs have not yet confirmed which schemes they will be taking forward or programme dates. We will know this information once the boroughs have submitted their new three-year Local Implementation Plan (LIP) Delivery Plans in February 2025.

If you are not satisfied with this response please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.

Yours sincerely,
