Sir John Cass complaints

The request was successful.

Dear Sir John Cass's Foundation Primary School,

Have many people complained about the association with Sir John Cass?

Will the school take any action?

Yours faithfully,

Abdul Hai

Graham Watson,

Dear Mr Hai
Thank you for your request dated 17 June 2020 asking the following
questions
Have many people complained about the association with Sir John Cass?

Will the school take any action?
The answer is as follows:
There have been queries (rather than complaints) from 3 parents.
The Governors have set up a working group to formulate recommendations for
actions, and will report back to the School Governing Body.
The group has made initial recommendations that the statue and bust of Sir
John Cass be removed and that the school be renamed.
The Governing Body has approved both of these recommendations and has
commenced a consultation process with parents, staff, children and the
wider community. The statue and bust have been removed.
The full findings of the Working Group have yet to be produced and the
Governing Body will consider any other recommendations they make.
Sincerely,

Mr Graham Watson
