SINC information

Tobie Underhill made this Freedom of Information request to Hampshire County Council

This request has been closed to new correspondence. Contact us if you think it should be reopened.

The request was successful.

Tobie Underhill

Dear Hampshire County Council,

please could I have a spreadsheet of Sites of Importance for Nature Conversation (SINCs) for all of Hampshire.

It must contain the following 5 fields as a minimum:

Area (ha/m); LPA district; SINC full name; Grid reference; Criteria for designation
.
I understand that this information is easily extracted as it underpins your GIS layers so don't envisage it will take you very long to complete (so there will be no charge).

An Excel spreadsheet will be acceptable. I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours faithfully,

Tobie Underhill

Hampshire County Council

Dear Mr Underhill

Thank you for your request for data on SINCs in Hampshire, received as a
FOI request by the Hampshire Biodiversity Information Centre (HBIC) on the
13th July 2010. HBIC maintain a GIS layer of SINCs on behalf of it's
funding partners and copyright resides with the Partnership.

As you are probably aware a request for environmental data is exempt from
FOI and must be treated under the Environmental Information Regulations.

HBIC has a charging policy which accords with the EIRegs and the Re-Use of
Public Sector Information Regulations. See
[1]http://www3.hants.gov.uk/hbic-charging_p...

I would be grateful if you could re-direct your request through our
on-line data request form so that the request can be logged and tracked to
ensure we meet our response times. You will also need to sign our
conditions of use (via the form) to ensure the data is not published or
passed onto others. I therefore also need to know if you are requesting
this information for commercial reasons or for private/personal use? Our
charging policy applies to the former.

See [2]http://www3.hants.gov.uk/biodiversity/hb...

I look forward to hearing from you

Kind regards

Nicky
