Shirebrook: Sanctions and suitable job vacancies which are not applied for

The request was refused by Department for Work and Pensions.

Dear Department for Work and Pensions,

This is a request for information concerning sanctions imposed on JSA claimants at your Jobcentre described in your statistics as “Mansfield - Station Road” but might be more informally identified as “Shirebrook Jobcentre”

I refer to the FOI request at https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/m... and in particular your letter of 11 June 2015 where you state: “The main reason for the high proportion of sanctions recorded in Shirebrook is the high number of locally advertised, suitable job vacancies which are not applied for.”

Please disclose the number of those sanctions where the vacancies concerned were with Sports Direct.

Please provide the statistics for a period that satisfies the following criteria:

• As recent as possible
• Covering as long a period as possible
• Not so long as to beach the £600 limit

I know that the required information may be held in local offices and not centrally by DWP. Please feel free to look for the information in appropriate local offices.

Thank you

Yours faithfully,

Mr Harris
