RE: FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST – OUR REF SBC1325

 

Further to your email received on 30 December 2013, I am now in a position
to respond to your request for information.  I have left your questions on
for ease of reference.

 

REQUEST

 

Q1.      Do you currently have any shared services within Social Care with
other/s Local Authorities?  If yes, please state with who and what areas
e:g Children’s, Adults etc.

 

A1.       We have a shared emergency duty team (EDT) service covering
adult and children’s social care which we provide on behalf of Darlington,
Hartlepool, Middlesbrough and Redcar and Cleveland Councils.

 

There are no other shared services with respect to adult and children’s
social care.

 

Q2.      Please describe your plans with joint working between Social Care
and Health

 

A2.       There are the following arrangements in place in respect of
Adult Social Care:

 

·                     Integrated care management arrangements in mental
health services.

 

·                     Lead commissioning arrangements on behalf of the
Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) for care home services and home care
services (Section 75 agreements).

 

·                     Arrangements in place with the CCG relating to
reablement services and with the CCG and NHS Local Area Team for social
care funding (Section 256 agreements).

 

·                     The CCG makes a financial contribution to the adult
safeguarding arrangements.

 

There are no plans to share services with health in respect of Children’s
Social Care.
