Dear Ms Young,
Thank you for your request for information from the University of Dundee. Having discussed your request with colleagues, they confirm that incidents on campus are reported to the police for appropriate action. Individuals seeking help are encouraged to contact the police so that incidents can be properly and appropriately investigated.
Incidents on campus are not classified according to the Scottish crime recording standards as decisions on classification are necessarily taken by the appropriate authorities. As such, the numbers of particular types of crime are not held by the University (per S.17 of FoI(S)A). However, such statistics may be available from Police Scotland - http://www.scotland.police.uk/access-to-....
Where the University is made aware of circumstances which have an impact upon any student’s status at the University, the outcome of any process will be recorded in the monitoring information on student discipline. Please see - http://www.dundee.ac.uk/governance/dca/m....
Finally, you may find it helpful to note that Student Services provide advice and guidance on sexual health and safety issues both online (eghttp://www.dundee.ac.uk/studentservices/... and http://www.dundee.ac.uk/studentservices/...) and on campus. I understand that the Students’ Association also provide extensive information on sexual health and safety on their premises.
I trust that this is helpful, but please feel free to contact me if I can be of further assistance.
Yours sincerely,
Alan Bell
