Request under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002

I refer to your correspondence dated 2 February 2020 requesting information in relation to sex education.

The Council is treating your request as a request under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 and can respond as follows:

As a Local Authority we list recommended resources for our schools but in keeping with Curriculum for Excellence principals each teachers adapts the curriculum to meet the needs of their individual pupils.

For our denominational schools "Call for Love" and "God's Loving Plan" are the two resources which we recommend.

For all other schools we recommend that schools make use of the new national Relationships, Sexual Health and Parenthood (RSHP) resource as appropriate to the needs of their pupils.
