We can confirm that fowl water flows will discharge to the 300mm combined
network in Rowley Lane. As such a capacity check of the 100mm combined
sewer has not been undertaken; foul discharge would not be to this asset.
The planning consultation response issued by YW restricts pumped discharge
rate to 6l/s.

Dear EIR Compliance,
Hi
Still need a plain answer to mr request what is the size of the main sewer on Hermitage Park is it 100mm or not.
If I am correct it being 100mm Therfore can a 100mm sewer cope with the extra properties planned.
Surely there must be a limit to the amount of sewage through a 100mm pipe is there or is there not .Will a larger main sewer be needed from Hermitage Park down to Rowley yes or no

Yours sincerely,

David Ward

Dear David Ward,

I refer to your request for information submitted to Yorkshire Water dated
4 June 2024.

Included with this email are our response to your questions:

 1. Is the sewer on Hermitage park 100mm?

We are not able to confirm the diameter of the sewer in Hermitage Park,
Yorkshire Waters statutory mapping records do not include this detail. As
such for the purposes of paragraph 12(4)(1)(a), a public authority may
refuse to disclose information to the extent that (a) it does not hold
that information when an applicant’s request is received.

 2. If the sewer on hermitage park is 100mm can it cope with the new
development?

There is no available information on the diameter size of the sewer in
Heritage Park. As such for the purposes of paragraph 12(4)(1)(a), a public
authority may refuse to disclose information to the extent that (a) it
does not hold that information when an applicant’s request is received.

In any case the proposed development drainage strategy refers to a direct
connection to the 300mm, not the 100mm you refer to.

 3. What is the maximum that the 100mm sewage pipe can withhold?

The network is not designed to hold volume but rather convey waste for
treatment, capacity calculations require gradient values and as such
capacity can vary. Gradient details are not available. As such for the
purposes of paragraph 12(4)(1)(a), a public authority may refuse to
disclose information to the extent that (a) it does not hold that
information when an applicant’s request is received.

I trust that the provision of this data satisfies your request.  In
accordance with the Environmental Information Regulations 2004, if you are
not satisfied with this reply to your request you can ask for an internal
review.  A request for an internal review must be submitted within 40
working days by contacting the Data Protection Team.

Thank you for contacting Yorkshire Water.

Dear EIR Compliance,
Hi
I am amazed that you do not know the diameter of the sewerage pipe on Hermitage Park and keep referring to A 300mm pipe connection on Rowley Lane .The approved plan is for an extra 80 houses so if I am correct in the sewage pipe being 100mm can that cope with the extra housing proposed or will a new sewer be needed from Hermitage Park to the 300mm main on Rowley Lane .I would appreciate a yes or no answer
Regards
David Ward

Dear David Ward,

I refer to your email to Yorkshire Water dated 10/07/2024

The development of the new houses, that you have referred to in your request, are not connected to the 100mm pipe that you have referenced in your EIR below. The development will connect straight into the 300mm.No sewer capacity concerns have been identified from the proposed development.

Thank you for contacting Yorkshire Water.

Dear EIR Compliance,
Hi
Thanks for your prompt response.
With regard to connecting directly into the 300mm this pipe is on the main road in Rowley Lane so how is it proposed to join the 300mm pipe without going via Hermitage Park and the 100mm pipe .So does this mean that a major alteration to the sewerage system in Hermitage Park will be undertaken

David Ward

Dear David Ward,

I refer to your email to Yorkshire Water dated 12/07/2024

It is not anticipated that a direct connection to the 300mm pipe in Rowley lane would result in a major alteration to the existing sewerage network.

Thank you for contacting Yorkshire Water.
