I refer to your request for information submitted to Yorkshire Water dated

Please find below our response to your question “There is planned new
development off Hermitage Park Huddersfield where the application is to

We can confirm that fowl water flows will discharge to the 300mm combined
network in Rowley Lane. As such a capacity check of the 100mm combined
sewer has not been undertaken; foul discharge would not be to this asset.
The planning consultation response issued by YW restricts pumped discharge
rate to 6l/s.

 1. Is the sewer on Hermitage park 100mm?

We are not able to confirm the diameter of the sewer in Hermitage Park,
Yorkshire Waters statutory mapping records do not include this detail. As
such for the purposes of paragraph 12(4)(1)(a), a public authority may
refuse to disclose information to the extent that (a) it does not hold
that information when an applicant’s request is received.

 2. If the sewer on hermitage park is 100mm can it cope with the new
development?

There is no available information on the diameter size of the sewer in
Heritage Park. As such for the purposes of paragraph 12(4)(1)(a), a public
authority may refuse to disclose information to the extent that (a) it
does not hold that information when an applicant’s request is received.

In any case the proposed development drainage strategy refers to a direct
connection to the 300mm, not the 100mm you refer to.

 3. What is the maximum that the 100mm sewage pipe can withhold?

The network is not designed to hold volume but rather convey waste for
treatment, capacity calculations require gradient values and as such
capacity can vary. Gradient details are not available. As such for the
purposes of paragraph 12(4)(1)(a), a public authority may refuse to
disclose information to the extent that (a) it does not hold that
information when an applicant’s request is received.
