Shirley P{assmore

Dear Thames Water,

1. For each of the calendar years 2008, 2009 and 2010 (or, if easier, for each of the financial years ending March 2008, March 2009 and March 2010) can you provide the following information:

1. a) The volume of sewage released into the Thames by Mogden Sewage Treatment Works and the number of discharges.
b) The volume of sewage released into the Thames by the 34 London CSOs which will be affected by the Thames Tunnel.
c) The volume of sewage released into the Thames by the remaining 23 London CSOs and other sources in the Thames Water area (such other sources to be identified).

2. The anticipated volume of sewage released per year into the Thames by Mogden and number of discharges, following completion of the current Mogden upgrade.

3. The anticipated volume of sewage released per year into the Thames by the 34 affected CSOs following completion of the Thames Tunnel, as currently planned.

4. The anticipated volume of sewage released per year into the Thames by the remaining 23 London CSOs and other sources in the Thames Water area (such other sources to be identified).

All the information for 1 to 4 above to be provided on a comparable basis, eliminating the effect of dilution from rainwater or waste water on volume of discharges. Effective dry mass, rather than volume, would be acceptable if it gave comparable information.

The anticipated figures requested above are to be based on current totals, ie without effect of future inflation.

5. All available data from monitoring of harmful bacterial levels in the Thames, above and below Mogden, carried out in the three years above.

6. Confirmation of whether the Thames Tunnel project is subject to the EIA Directive. If this is the case, Copies of the Environmental Assessment produced and any other assessments made of the Thames Tunnel for the purpose of compliance with current and anticipated EU legislation.

Yours faithfully,

Shirley Passmore
for West London River Group (Vice Chairman).
and Wandsworth Society Planning sub-committee.
