Dear British Broadcasting Corporation,

It has been reported in The Daily Telegraph today (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/tvand...) that "A quarter of senior managers received more than they were entitled to, leaving the taxpayer with an unnecessary bill of £1 million.".

Under the transparency afforded to me by the Freedom of Information Act I would like to know, please:

- If this statement is true or false.

- If true, a list of the senior managers by name together with details of the severance payment to which they were entitled, the severance payment actually awarded and who by name authorised each overpayment.

I look forward to receiving your reply within the 20 working days allowed by the FOI Act legislation.

Yours faithfully,

Mr A Willmore

Ah... they're too embarrassed to say! They just ignore any requests they don't want to give the answer to. It took me 6 months and the ICO to get Jimmy Savile information.

You should complain to the ICO. I have complained about the BBC's failure to respond in time to two of my requests today. As soon as the clock ticks past 20 working days the ICO is duty bound to investigate.

The more people who complain the more likely enforcement action will be taken against the BBC, as they're extracting the urine with the way they handle FOIA requests.

Dear FOI Enquiries,

It was a week ago that I received the results of your internal review in which it was stated "the BBC have failed to keep the applicant up to date with the progress of their request and have therefore also failed under the Act in their duty to advise and assist.".

Needless to say, you are STILL failing to keep the applicant - me - up to date with the progress of my request.

I have passed this request to the ICO for further investigation.

Mr A Willmore

Yours sincerely,

A Willmore
