Dear UK Border Agency,

I Submitted my application for Spouse Settlement -ILR at PEO Croydon Office last week - I need clarification on below queries:

1) Why has there been no mention of changes in way application is handled at PEO Croydon anywhere on UKBA website - Previously a case worker would collect documents confirm any information needed from applicant. This time around my documents was collected one counter dedicated for this purpose which leaves with no window for applicant to provide information.

2) I was asked to return after 2 hours to find out decision on my application upon return only to be informed that due to further enquiries there will be a delay in processing my application. When I queried was told my file was not in live location and is London office and there would be no time line as to when decision on my application will be made.

3) I was provided a letter stating my application is valid and there will be enquiries made I require to wait. When I asked the same UK BA staff member in writing for time line it was refused and supervisor stepped in to say I can withdraw my application without refund if urgent travel. I explained my situation but was told off by her just because I paid premium service does not mean I will get a Visa! But my point was I paid to receive same day service as clearly stated on website

Unfortunately I assume my case falls under the 10%(No one knows exact statistics of course) There is no clarity how long the processing would take even though delay is due to file location which is not my fault. It is clearly unfair
There is no dedicated telephone line/email id for premium applicants

I am writing to request an internal review of UK Border Agency's handling of my FOI request 'Settlement Spouse Visa Enquiries Pending -PEO Croydon'.

-On the day of my interview i.e 7th March at PEO croydon office i filled complaint form regarding my case delay and mentioned a staff member unprofessional-ism there has been no response so far . Not sure if this is recorded and any action taken so far?

-I sent 2 emails dated (16th March & 28th March ) enquiring about my application. I received letter CSU apologising for the delay and that my details have been forward to Ms J Suffren and any enquiries to be directed to her. I was hoping she would contact me after receiving my details but no joy as it seems has decided to ignore my pleas made in the emails.

-I had sent my case information as requested by Peter Edwards from FOI team on this website 21st March - Not sure what action was taken by him on this matter as there is no response.

It has been 4 weeks since my application on the day a false promise was made that within 48 hours someone would contact me, My nan is ill i need to make urgent travel plan. All my pleas have seem to fallen on deaf ears.

I hope someone senior takes this matter into hands and make a quick decision on my application. I have tried every avenue and will try anything comes across my way to be heard.

Dear FOI Responses,

I am fraustrated with Bureaucracy of UK Border Agency and handling of Home office about my complaint

- I recieved a letter from PEO Croydon office with reference to my letter sent to Peter Edwards stating my application is under further enquiries and asking me to withdraw my application due to urgent travel.
Its appalling!! because not only i have to pay twice for visa (As if £1350 was not enough claiming to provide same day service) go back to home country apply again. Leave my husband he is currently recovering from haemorrhage, Leave my full time job!!! Are you guys for real?!!!!!!

- Secondly home office decides to address my complaint form and mentions premium service is 95% same day service (God only knows how they claim this service standard everywhere) remaining cases will be decided soon as possible - did they fail to see it is past 6 weeks and what is soon as possible?
I had mentioned unprofessionalism of one their staff on the day of service no one contacted to hear my version but a standard reply we will improve our services.HOW CAN YOU IMPROVE IF YOU DO NOT ADDRESS THE ISSUE?

Now the internal review says due to freedom of information act you cannot provide information.

If this were a private company there is laws to protect consumer. Why is not there for public bodies does it mean they can abuse the power and get away with anything?

Based on Peter Edwards recomendation i did send my details personally outcome was nothing! I do not even know the purpose of this website or services you claim to provide anymore although i have followed exactly what you asked me to spending more time and money needless to say stress!! Home office does not even address the complaints so its not less but a joke for them!
