Dear Ministry of Defence,

I wrote recently to ask if the MOD had the service records for my late grandfather, we had believed that his regiment was the Ox and Bucks as he had lived in Buckinghamshire, however he had moved to Watford in Hertfordshire and had enlisted there.
Therefore we now believe that the correct regiment was Beds and Herts.

Given that we know he served in India, Hong Kong / Burma, Iran, Iraq, Egypt, Libya and Italy as a field ambulance driver, we think he must have been part of the 1st battalion Beds and Herts.

Charles Frank Setterfield was born in Kent on 19/04/1914, enlisting in 1939, we do not know his service number.
