I refer to your request for information received on 30/01/2018. Please see
the information below in response to your request: -

 

Please state the number of residential homes owned by the Council and the
percentage owned by leaseholders.

 

Residential homes owned by the Council = 33,019

Percentage owned by leaseholders = 48.2%

 

Please state the method of apportioning service charges - whether by
number of units, square footage, rateable value or by any other method
for:

 

1. General service charges

2. Major works

 

If there are different methods used please specify which method applies to
which estate.

 

General service charges and major works costs are apportioned through a
percentage figure laid out in each lease covering both block and estate
charges. Leaseholders of larger properties will play a proportionately
higher service charge.
