Serious Head Injury statistics

The request was refused by Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.

Dear Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust,

Would you be able to provide me with the following statistics, for Nottingham University Hospitals, for the years 2009-2013:

1) The number of serious head injury cases and more specifically those with an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI)?
2) Of these, how many were later transferred to a neurosurgical unit?
3) Of these, how many were transferred to a neurosurgical unit within the East Midlands?

Thank you in advance, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours faithfully,

Mr C Bruce.

Dear Staton Janet (ICT Services),

I acknowledge that you do not currently record Acquired Brain Injuries, could you therefore provide information (on an annual basis if possible) relating to the other aspects of my request for the years 2009-2013 (or a similar period):

1) The number of patients who were identified as suitable for neurorehabilitation.
2) The number of patients transferred to a neurosurgical unit (breaking down the figures if possible between those transferred to a unit within Nottingham and those to a unit outside- a similar geographical boundary will suffice).

If information pertaining to one aspect of the request is available and another is not, could you please provide me with the information that you do have.

Yours sincerely,

Callum Bruce
