We write with response to your Freedom of Information request dated 12th April, received and opened on 23rd April.

1. Of the 996 English exam papers marked at King Edward VI Grammar School, how many were marked by each of the following groups:

Further to your below email, we have re-read the CV's submitted by our markers and invigilators and can confirm that none stated that they had acted as a private tutor. However we would mention that we include the following statement on the markers contract;

It is a condition of this appointment that;
: You do not disclose to third parties any details whatsoever of the test papers taken, the performance of any candidate, individual questions or answers given or discussions concerning the marking process
: You declare any relationship to or close knowledge of any candidates taking the selection test as soon as you become aware of such potential conflict of interest.
A breach of these conditions will result in summary dismissal without pay.

In addition to this, all our invigilators are asked to sign a declaration form which includes the following wording;

: I understand that all materials pertaining to the 11+ Examination is to remain confidential and I will not disclose any information regarding the tests of the test materials
: I do not have any close/family relationship with any child taking the test this year.
: If I discover that one or more of the listed candidates is known to me, I will inform the Head of the Test Centre immediately to enable the candidate to be invigilated by someone else.
