Dear Jordan

Thank you for your Freedom of Information request dated 15^th September
2017.

All antibiotics given within the Trust are by prescription, including
those given to patients with suspected sepsis. At Goole, if the patient is
triggering the Red flag sepsis criteria, requiring antibiotics urgently
(within 1 hour) and where there is no Doctor immediately available to
prescribe antibiotics, a Patient Group Direction (PGD) is in place
allowing antibiotic commencement by nursing staff .

The sepsis care pathways cover sepsis identification (screening) and
treatment within the Trust for adults, children and in maternity services.

The sepsis pathway that we use is a modified version adopted from UK
Sepsis Trust.  Please see attachment for a copy of the adult version of
the screening tool.

Regards
