Dear Oxford Brookes University,

I am writing to request information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. In order to assist you with this request, I am outlining my query as specifically as possible.
I would like to know the yearly salary of the 6 pro vice chancellors and how much that has increased since 2012, year-to-year.
I would be interested in any information held by your organization regarding my request. I understand that I do not have to specify files or documents and that it is the institution’s responsibility to provide the information I require. If you need further clarification, please contact me by email.
I would like to receive the information electronically.
If my request is denied in whole or in part, I ask that you justify this by reference to specific exemptions of the Act. I will also expect you to release all non-exempt material. I reserve the right to appeal your decision to withhold any information or to charge excessive fees.

Further to your email of 27 April 2018 asking for information from Oxford
Brookes University about the salaries of the Pro-Vice Chancellors, I am
able to provide the following information in response to your request.

You asked:

I would like to know the yearly salary of the 6 pro vice chancellors and
how much that has increased since 2012, year-to-year.

Our Response:

 We are withholding some of the information requested because we believe
section 40 of the Act applies.
Section 40, by virtue of section 40 (3) (a) (i) stipulates that personal
data should not be disclosed if it breaches any of the data protection
principles as set out in the Data Protection Act 1998. Although we
publish our Vice Chancellor's salary details, we feel that all other
employees are entitled to a measure of privacy where their remuneration
is concerned. Therefore, we believe releasing this data would breach
Principle 1 (Personal data should be processed fairly and lawfully). 
 However, section 16 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 explains
that we have a duty to assist and advise.  Therefore I can tell you that
salaries over £100,000 published annually (in bands of £10k) in our
Financial Statements, which can be found
